Trip to St. Stithians
On The 9th of May 2016, the Senior B marimba band was invited to play at the first ever marimba festival hosted by St. Stithians college. When they got there they were amazed by the other bands; they each had at least 20 members. This, however didn't shake the band at all. Our 9 players (emphasis on 9), delivered a performance unlike any other with energy as if they were swimming in a pool of caffeine. ''It was a real learning experience for us.'' says bass player Tuelo Mosiane. ''We got to practice with some of the best bands in Gauteng. The school was HUGE! We were driving around for 20 minutes in some town looking for the school only to find out, the town WAS the school!'' The band stayed with host parents in mansion like houses. "They had cars we can only ever dream of having and remote controlled curtains!'' said tenor player Kgotso Nteo. Thank you to St. Stithians for having us, we had a blast!
